Mountains to Sea Trail

Hey everyone,

Hey everyone, this is Daniel.  To start off, I'll let you know where I'm coming from.  I hiked half of the Appalachian Trail this past summer and since getting off in August, I just wanted to do whatever I could to expedite the completion of North Carolina's long distance trail.  I wanted to get involved with the Mountains to Sea Trail and make a job of it.  They told me no but they weren't going to tell me I couldn't volunteer.  Since the current finance estimate to finish the trial runs somewhere around $65,000,000 one of the big projects from here on out is to raise some funds.  I volunteered to set up contacts with different collegiate outing clubs and as a former club member, this is where I and all of you come in.  I am asking if the club would be interested in putting together a fund raiser for the trail.  I can help you coordinate it but the club would have to run it.  Since it's already too late to talk about it this week, you all will have a chance to marinate on that idea.  Beyond fund raising, there are other opportunities for the club to get involved with the trail in work days that are held once a month.  If you choose either or both of these paths, it would be a good way for the outing club to get involved with the community and put the club out in public view.  Hope yall have a good discussion/ meeting about this next week!

p.s.  If you don't remember me, it's because I was only a member last fall, my last semester sad
